LDTC hosted its first edit-a-thon in January 2020 at the Hawaiian & Pacific Collections. It was organized by Jessica Charest and Leah Pappas and was supported by the Wikimedia Foundation.

edit-a-thon #2

This edit-a-thon was organized by Jessica Charest and Gregory Vondiziano. It was hosted by Jacob Hakim and was entirely online. The edit-a-thon was hosted in March 2020 as part of the 2020 LDTC/ELP Language Documentation Training Webinar Series. An interactive livestreamed video walked participants through how to set up an account and edit Wikipedia in order to increase the number of languages and native-speaker editors on Wikipedia. Because the edit-a-thon was short and was largely comprised of new editors, participants largely only had time to explore the site. In total, the video has engaged 68 participants. Seasoned editors were able to edit the following sites:
